We were a party of 18 adults who stayed for a 50th birthday weekend. Cameley Lodge was a perfect location, peaceful, quiet but central for us all. There is plenty of communal space to be social but also areas where you can have some down time away from the crowd. John and Paula were lovely hosts, very helpful and considerate, who made us feel welcome. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole place felt well cared for and spotlessly clean. We made good use of the hot tub in the evenings which was a lovely bonus. We would definitely return.
Tips for other travellers
Local private chef Mariusz Kaminski was brilliant, provided an excellent 3 course meal in the Lodge for our celebration.

We stayed as a family of 15 to celebrate a 90th Birthday. The property was ideal for a family gathering, having plentiful bedrooms and living areas to all enjoy together. The weather wasn't great but we did get one day when the sun came out and we were able to enjoy a BBQ in the lovely garden. The large hot tub was also enjoyed by all. We would definitely recommend to others. John was extremely helpful on arrival and throughout our stay.
Tips for other travellers
The BBQ is charcoal and so will need to bring your own charcoal if you want to use it. We managed to locate a local shop to purchase some during our stay. The Old Station Inn, a couple of miles away, provides very good food at a reasonable price, as does The Farrington Inn, also just a mile away.

You were such kind and attentive hosts - we really appreciated your warm welcome and all the information you gave us for the stay. The booking process was incredibly smooth, and I appreciated that you sent regular messages and reminders for when payments were due to keep us organised. The location was absolutely sublime: I could have sat for hours on the terrace overlooking the lake and fields. The accommodation was clean and functional throughout, and we loved using the hot tub.

We did a brilliant circular walk via the pub at Litton. The Ring O Bells served delicious food and had a great atmosphere.

"This was a simply wonderful place for our family gathering for my husband's 40th! It was spacious yet connecting; the hot tub was enjoyed so much; the beds comfy; the showers powerful and hot; the facilities to cook were perfect for large groups...we couldn't recommend it more highly! And will definitely be back again! Thank you so much John and Paula!"

We loved walking round the nearby roads and fields...and enjoyed an outing to chew valley lake with the kids and their balance bikes. E.L
"This was just the place to hold a celebratory 70th birthday weekend with family and friends. Some people stayed in the comfortable ensuite bedrooms and others joined us for lunch. There was still plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen is well equipped. Both the hot tub and the wood burning stove were inviting on a cold January day. Excellent venue for a relaxed weekend in the country. Everyone had a great time." S.R January24
"We regularly hire a large house to get together at Christmas, and pack lots of things we think we will need. No need here, as all the basics, tea & coffee (even milk and eggs), cleaning necessities & toilet rolls were all waiting for us. Our hosts were attentive, but not intrusive and quickly responded to any requests.
All in all an excellent stay."

"Despite the rain, members of our party went on several walks from the Lodge, whilst others ventured into Wells, Bath (using Park & Ride) and Midsommer Norton. All within easy reach.
The Station Inn hosted the annual Boxing Day lunchtime drink, whilst Ring o' Bells readily accommodated our party of 11 for a very tasty lunch" J M December 23
" Great kitchen and dining room ! Nice and warm ! Rooms were very clean and tidy ! Very quiet location .Hot tub much appreciated! " P. W December 23
"Such a lovely quiet location, and the Lodge itself is perfect for a larger family gathering -- beautiful bedrooms, communal areas, and the kitchen is perfect for preparing a big family meal " T. L November 23
"I booked Cameley Lodge for a team meeting/event. As can often happen when booking such events, the date for this needed moving early on and John was incredibly helpful getting this sorted. The communication in the build up to our stay was perfect, with clear instructions for all parts of the check in and any equipment etc on site during our stay. Properties with great communal space that also have plenty of individual bedrooms are hard to find and this is perfect for that need. I would highly recommend this place, and believe my team would like to revisit in the future." A.T October 23
"Cameley Lodge proved to be the perfect location for our family and friends to stay while we all attended our sons wedding locally. John went out of his way to ensure our stay was perfect, even taking in our Asda delivery when it arrived earlier than the order time and we weren't there to receive it.
The setting at Cameley Lodge is beautiful. It is well set up for large groups and has everything one would wish for to ensure a hassle free and relaxed stay" F.R September 23
"We had a great week at Cameley Lodge. It’s in a fabulous location, just a few minutes off the A37. It is easy to get to Bath, Bristol, Wells, Cheddar Gorge or the north Somerset coast. Yet when you are at the Lodge you feel you are totally secluded.
En suites in every bedroom is a great bonus when you are a big group. We were 16 persons, aged 3 to 70+. Everyone loved it. The hot tub was a big hit, with young an old alike. The kitchen/diner makes for a great communal space. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and cutlery. We really loved the emphasis on recycling. Having a lift and step-free access throughout is great.
We didn’t spend as much time enjoying the panorama as we intended, but still managed to see kingfishers, birds of prey, swallows and herons, just from the patio area.
John and Paula were very welcoming and friendly but maintain a discreet profile. Yet were easily contactable and dealt with our questions expeditiously.
I thoroughly recommend a stay here". J.B August 23
"Great location, great venue, great host. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Booked the venue to attend a family wedding in Priston. Plenty of room for everyone to be together but separate if needed. Would definitely recommend for larger groups. Very private great view over the lake loads of parking." S.T July 23
"John was very welcoming and helpful. We all enjoyed the spacious facilities and our disabled son was accommodated extremely well with the ground floor accessible toilet and the lift to the first floor. The hot tub was very popular, especially with the children! We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and tranquility in a beautiful setting." P.C June 23

There is lots of space, excellent facilities and beautiful surroundings in peaceful countryside. Just what we wanted. John and Paula are great hosts - very friendly and helpful but low profile." "We celebrated our diamond wedding anniversary with a long weekend (17th-20th March) at Cameley Lodge with all our family, 16 adults,5 children & 2 dogs. The 9 ensuite bedrooms were ideal for our needs with the added bonus of a lift to the first floor. The kitchen & dining area was just perfect our self catering requirements as was the rest of the accommodation including a inviting HOT tub Thank you John & Paula for your very warm welcome". "Fantastic stay, we were able able to get together for a quiet weekend with plenty of space in the main room to set up board games, jigsaw puzzles and still have dining space! the lounge was comfy and spacious. The kitchen had plenty of crockery and utensil and was ready stocked with the essential tea, coffee, milk and biscuits! The hot tub was a real treat, with plenty of room and the en suite rooms meant we each had our own space to unwind at the end of the day. (the jetted bathtubs was a nice surprise too!) John met us at the door and talked us through anything we needed to know and was on hand if we needed anything further. A great stay, Will be saving this for future get-togethers!" A.G February 23
